Chicken Tikka Masala

Ingredients

For marinating the chicken:

  • 800g chicken
  • 1/2 tsp ground chili
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • Salt

Then you will need:

  • 200g yogur
  • 1/2 tsp ground chili
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 2 tbsp sunflower oil
  • 3 cloves garlic and juice of half a lime

For the sauce:

  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tbsp tikka masala (spice mix)
  • 2 tbsp sunflower oil
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp ground coriander seeds
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 100ml coconut milk
  • Salt
PREPARATION

Step 1

  • Incisions are cut into the chicken and it is seasoned with salt, ground chili, and lemon juice.
  • We leave it to cool for about 30 minutes
  • We take it out and marinate it with the yogurt, ground chili, ginger, garam masala, oil, crushed garlic cloves, and juice
  • We leave it in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours.

 

Step 2

  • We roast in the oven at 230ºC for about 15-20 minutes
  • We take it out, cut pieces about 1 cm wide and set them aside.

 

Step 3

  • We prepare the sauce. In a saucepan, sauté the garlic with the ginger, add the onion, and when it starts to brown, add the chopped tomatoes and let them soften for a few minutes.
  • We add the spices, salt and sugar and fortify with a tablespoon of tikka masala
  • Add the coconut milk and the chopped chicken.
  • Let it simmer for about 5 minutes and serve hot
